My life was flipped topsy turvy and as I settle back into my work I am here to update you all!
So many things in my life have changed. The biggest though, is that I have found community in my community. I have found friends of similar values. Friends walking a similar path.
For awhile there, it felt of upmost importance to throw myself into social events as I found my footing amongst this new community.
I am learning how to balance though. I do not have to go out every night. I do not have to accept every dinner reservation. I am slowly picking up the things I let fall into the wayside during the last few months.

As I learn balance, I have dove back into editing Where the Music Finds Us. A lot of work needs done, I have realized.
While Bastien and Eli have clear arcs that show love and healing through art and music, the central concepts of the book; Liora feels stagnant. She does not have character development. She is, more or less, the same girl at fifteen as she is a woman at thirty-two.
That is going to need a hell of a lot of change on my part.

As such, I have no timeline currently as to when Where the Music Finds Us will be released. We were originally hoping for a late spring release, but that might be overzealous at this point.

I will however, be at two events in 2026!
The first, Fae Ball: Myths and Legends will be in Overland Park, Kansas May 30, 2026! I am really hoping to have Where the Music Finds Us out by this event. If that does not happen, it will not be the end of the world. However, that is what I am aiming for.

The second, will be Fable – Fantasy and Book Lovers Expo in York, Pennsylvania July 31st-August 1st. This convention is being thrown by the author JD Marcella (who recently released her debut, The Fallen Queen), as well as Chelsea Schermerhorn. Many of you may know of Chelsea as the owner of Bluebonnet Books, the publisher who published Ink, Blood, & Prayer.
I hope 2026 will bring me the opportunity to run into many of you.
Have a beautiful day, if you celebrate it, have a lovely and safe Thanksgiving.
Talk to you soon!
~Kiera
